SQA Engineer

IT Guiders, an engineer-led technology partner specializing in secure, scalable, and practical technology solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer. This part-time, remote contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with developers, cloud engineers, and senior technical teams to ensure applications are reliable, secure, scalable, and production-ready. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance, with a passion for improving software quality through both manual and automated testing.

Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test plans covering functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects to ensure timely resolution.
- Test REST APIs and backend services, validating API responses, authentication, data integrity, and error handling using tools such as Postman or similar platforms.
- Develop and maintain automated test cases using frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalents.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve test automation and coverage.
- Perform regression testing prior to software releases and collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve defects.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), staging, and production validation processes.
- Integrate testing activities into CI/CD workflows and work within Git-based development environments.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions to align quality goals with development efforts.

Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Hands-on experience with functional, regression, integration, and API testing methodologies.
- Ability to create clear, comprehensive test cases and detailed bug reports.
- Familiarity with testing and project management tools such as Postman and Jira.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Understanding of Git version control and CI/CD concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, flexible environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
