SQA manager

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SQA Manager to lead our Software Quality Assurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective quality assurance strategies, managing all testing activities, and ensuring that software products meet the highest quality standards. This role requires close collaboration with development and product teams to deliver reliable and robust software solutions that align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the SQA team, overseeing daily testing operations to ensure smooth execution.
- Develop and enforce comprehensive QA strategies, processes, and testing standards tailored to project needs.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Review and approve test plans, test cases, scenarios, and reports to maintain quality benchmarks.
- Ensure thorough functional, regression, integration, system, and performance testing is conducted.
- Identify, document, track, and follow up on software defects and issues until resolution.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to address quality concerns.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics, preparing regular reports to communicate testing progress and outcomes.
- Ensure all testing activities are completed within agreed project timelines.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve QA processes, including automation and testing efficiency.
- Mentor, train, and evaluate SQA team members to foster professional growth and high performance.
- Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards and best practices in software development.
- Participate in requirements reviews, providing valuable feedback from a quality and testing perspective.
- Manage risk assessments to identify and mitigate critical issues before software release.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for the overall software development and release processes.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance, including managerial or leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and QA processes.
- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing techniques.
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Proven expertise in test planning, test case design, defect management, and reporting.
- Familiarity with QA and test management tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with automation testing frameworks and tools.
- Knowledge of API testing and database testing.
- Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working in CI/CD and DevOps environments.
- Familiarity with performance and security testing is an advantage.
