Sr. AWS DevOps Engineer- Kubernetes Expertise

We are seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer with strong Kubernetes expertise to join our team in Karachi. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining complex cloud environments for our clients, leveraging automation and cutting-edge technologies. You will be responsible for evolving AWS cloud architecture, supporting infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and developing automation solutions. This position operates on Central Time (US) from 8 am to 5 pm and offers the opportunity to work with a customer-focused, innovative company specializing in cloud modernization, migration, and AI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with DevOps engineers to architect and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure that is scalable, resilient, redundant, and self-healing.
- Advocate for infrastructure as code and automation, utilizing tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, CircleCI, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure, including clusters, namespaces, and deployments.
- Engage directly with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates on new features, and manage project deliverables independently.
- Develop and enhance operational practices and procedures to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and maintain secure operational infrastructure.
- Mentor and train junior DevOps engineers and new team members to foster skill development and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in DevOps engineering.
- At least 4 years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab.
- Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes (EKS or ECS), Rancher, etc.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible, and container technologies like Docker or Docker-Compose.
- Ability to write scripts in Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, or JavaScript when necessary.
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in English.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision.

Technical Expertise

- Hands-on experience architecting solutions within the AWS cloud ecosystem.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and manage CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
- Deep understanding of core DevOps principles including CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and automation.
- Extensive experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
- Expertise in containerization technologies, including Docker image creation, registry management, and runtime configuration.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewall configurations.
- Experience designing secure cloud infrastructure following modern cloud-native security standards.

Preferred Qualifications

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is highly desirable.
