Sr. Data Migration Engineer (C4-1125150)

Cloudelligent, an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner and cloud-native consultancy, is seeking a Senior Data Migration Engineer to join their team in Lahore. This role is pivotal in supporting LegalTech SaaS implementations by ensuring the accurate and seamless migration of financial, operational, and practice data from legacy systems to modern platforms. The successful candidate will lead the entire ETL lifecycle, from analyzing legacy data structures and mapping to new schemas, through to testing, validation, and final production loads. This position operates during 8 am to 5 pm CST and requires close collaboration with project managers, implementation consultants, and client IT teams to deliver high-quality data migration solutions that enable clients to maximize their cloud investments.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze legacy financial and practice-management data structures to design comprehensive conversion strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers and implementation consultants to gather mapping requirements and understand business rules.
- Translate functional requirements into scalable, technical migration plans.
- Extract data from various sources including SQL databases, CSV exports, APIs, and other legacy platforms.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries involving joins, CTEs, validation, and reconciliation logic.
- Develop Python scripts and reusable ETL tools to automate recurring processes and enhance consistency.
- Maintain detailed data-mapping documentation covering all migration objects.
- Conduct dry-run migrations and validate data accuracy across financial and operational modules.
- Execute final production data loads and generate reconciliation reports for billing, WIP, AR, GL, and related datasets.
- Investigate and resolve data anomalies, gaps, or logic errors across multiple sources.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation including mapping dictionaries, transformation logic, and conversion specifications.
- Act as a primary technical liaison for project managers, implementation consultants, and client IT teams.
- Communicate data issues, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of migration templates, automation scripts, and best-practice playbooks.
- Identify opportunities to streamline migration processes, reduce manual effort, and improve data quality.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in data migration, ETL engineering, data conversion, or ERP/SaaS system integration.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, CTEs, schema design, validation logic, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Strong skills in Excel and Power Query, along with Python programming experience; familiarity with Pandas and NumPy is a plus.
- Experience working with structured and semi-structured data formats such as CSV, JSON, and XML.
- Proven ability to analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, and resolve data quality issues effectively.
- Hands-on experience managing multi-object migration cycles, including dry runs, reconciliations, and cutovers.
- Excellent documentation skills with the ability to create clear and detailed technical specifications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
