Sr Developer, Application Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer to join the TCSVIZ team at TransUnion. This team manages four key products: Certified Caller Insights, Robocall Mitigation Insights, TrustID Insights, and Intelligent Call Control portals. This hybrid role requires working both virtually and onsite at a designated TransUnion office location for at least two days per week. The ideal candidate will have over eight years of experience in developing scalable, enterprise-grade applications and will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle—from architectural design and technical specifications to coding, code reviews, and cloud deployment on AWS or GCP.

Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on Development: Develop robust, production-ready code across the full stack, including Java/Spring Boot backend and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frontend frameworks.
- Cloud Integration: Deploy, optimize, and manage containerized services on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Quality & Code Reviews: Lead peer code reviews, enforce best practices, maintain secure coding standards, and ensure high test coverage including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, resolve complex technical challenges, and drive agile delivery processes.
- CI/CD & DevOps Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps teams to design and maintain automated build, test, and release pipelines.

Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in full-lifecycle software engineering.
- Backend Expertise: Strong proficiency in Java (versions 11, 17, or 21), Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate/JPA, and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Frontend Skills: Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js, along with TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Cloud Platforms: Practical experience with AWS services (ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS/SNS) or GCP services (GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL).
- Databases: Solid knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Redis.
- Microservices & Messaging: Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and messaging queues like Kafka.
- DevOps & Containers: Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Harness, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Engineering Best Practices: Demonstrated experience with TDD/BDD, clean architecture, SOLID principles, and system design.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Certifications in AWS or GCP cloud platforms are advantageous.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
