We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Compliance Officer to manage and oversee all tax-related activities in line with applicable laws, regulations, and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate filing of various tax returns, handling tax calculations, maintaining compliance, and coordinating with relevant tax authorities. This role requires strong technical knowledge of Pakistan’s tax framework and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments to support the company’s financial and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day tax compliance activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and FBR guidelines.
- Prepare, review, and ensure timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and statements.
- Handle Income Tax matters including advance tax calculations, annual returns, tax provisions, and related workings.
- Manage Withholding Tax (WHT) calculations, deductions, deposits, reconciliations, and preparation of withholding statements.
- Ensure correct application of withholding tax rates on vendor payments, services, contracts, salaries, and other relevant transactions.
- Oversee Sales Tax compliance including preparation and review of sales tax workings, returns, input/output tax reconciliations, and documentation.
- Reconcile sales tax, withholding tax, and income tax ledgers with the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Review tax implications of business transactions and provide guidance to Finance, Procurement, HR, and other departments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax records, workings, certificates, challans, returns, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor tax payment and filing deadlines, maintaining a comprehensive tax compliance calendar.
- Handle correspondence and coordination with FBR, PRA/SRB/KPRA/PRA, or other relevant tax authorities as applicable.
- Assist in tax audits, assessments, notices, inquiries, and coordinate with consultants and tax authorities when required.
- Review tax notices and prepare responses, supporting documents, and reconciliations.
- Support management of tax assessments, appeals, refunds, exemptions, and issuance of tax certificates where applicable.
- Monitor changes in tax laws, Finance Acts, notifications, circulars, and regulations, communicating relevant impacts to management.
- Support preparation of tax provisions, deferred tax workings, and other tax-related schedules in coordination with Finance/Accounts.
- Conduct periodic reviews to identify potential tax risks, compliance gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist in developing and implementing effective tax policies, controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate with external tax consultants, auditors, and internal stakeholders on taxation-related matters.
- Prepare tax reports, management information system (MIS) updates, reconciliations, and management reports as required.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper maintenance of sensitive tax and financial information.

Required Qualifications

- CA Inter, ACCA, ICMA, M.Com, MBA Finance, B.Com, or an equivalent qualification.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in taxation, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Withholding Tax.
- Good knowledge of Pakistan’s tax laws and FBR compliance requirements.
- Experience with tax returns, reconciliations, audits, notices, and tax documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and preferably experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Work Location

The position offers a monthly salary starting from Rs. 120,000. This role requires in-person attendance at the designated work location.
