Sr Manager Finance

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Manager Finance to support the finance function of a UAE-based logistics and transportation company. This role will be based remotely from our Islamabad office and requires strong financial oversight across various operations including fleet management, transportation, warehousing, customer contracts, budgeting, reporting, cost control, and compliance. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with UAE-based management and operational teams to ensure financial discipline, profitability, and timely reporting, bringing a blend of commercial and operational finance expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting: Lead comprehensive financial management and commercial finance support for logistics and transportation operations. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting segmented by business unit, customer, route, fleet, and service line, covering revenue, costs, and profitability analysis. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare and present detailed financial reports, dashboards, and insights to senior management.

Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash-flow forecasts, and financial models specific to logistics and transportation activities. Implement strong budgetary controls and monitor variances, providing actionable insights. Ensure proper allocation and monitoring of costs related to fleet, fuel, maintenance, manpower, subcontracting, warehousing, and other operational expenses. Lead cost optimization initiatives without compromising project delivery timelines.

Internal Controls & Compliance: Design, implement, and continuously enhance internal control frameworks across finance and logistics/transportation operations. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Strengthen financial governance, risk management, and audit preparedness. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.

Operational Finance, Costing & ERP Management: Ensure accurate costing for fleet, routes, and customers, along with operating margin and cost-to-serve analyses. Oversee ERP systems to maintain data integrity, accuracy, and real-time financial visibility. Drive automation and process improvements in finance systems and reporting.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Manage UAE VAT, corporate and income tax, withholding tax where applicable, and other relevant tax and regulatory matters. Ensure timely filings and adherence to all regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Management: Work closely with operations, fleet management, procurement, warehousing, commercial, and customer-facing teams. Provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making. Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Required Qualifications

A professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, or CMA (qualified or finalist preferred) is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in finance roles, ideally within logistics, transportation, fleet management, supply chain, warehousing, or related service sectors. Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for large-scale or multi-location operations is required. Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and regulatory compliance is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Experience in financial reporting, project accounting, and cost control mechanisms is highly valued. Hands-on experience designing and implementing internal control frameworks is important. Candidates should possess advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools is expected. The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment is essential. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills will contribute to success in this role.
