Based in Karachi, this leadership role offers the opportunity to drive strategic direction for Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Compliance functions within a dynamic pharmaceutical environment. The position requires ensuring scientific excellence, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and ethical business practices. The successful candidate will lead medical strategy development, key opinion leader (KOL) engagement, evidence generation, pharmacovigilance oversight, and compliance programs, while fostering cross-functional collaboration to support overall business objectives and uphold the highest standards of corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Affairs Strategy & Scientific Leadership: Lead the development and execution of Medical Affairs strategies across designated therapeutic areas. Provide scientific guidance throughout the product lifecycle, including medical education, KOL engagement, evidence generation, and medical information services. Review promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment with business goals.
Team & Operational Management: Manage and develop teams within Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Compliance through effective performance management, succession planning, and talent development initiatives. Allocate resources efficiently, set clear objectives, monitor team performance, and cultivate a high-performing culture. Oversee departmental budgets, projects, and vendor relationships, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with Commercial, Regulatory, Quality, Legal, HR, and external stakeholders to provide expert medical, safety, and compliance guidance. Build and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare professionals, KOLs, regulatory authorities, and professional societies to enhance scientific credibility and support organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
- Pharm-D degree (mandatory)
- 5 to 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably within Medical Affairs
- Proven track record in KOL engagement and medical strategy development
- Experience in people management and team leadership
