Sr. QA Engineer

We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer with a minimum of two years of experience to join our team in Karachi. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of reliable and high-quality software products. This position involves close collaboration with developers, product managers, and designers to test new features, identify defects, and enhance testing processes. The role offers a hybrid remote working arrangement based in Karachi.

Key Responsibilities

- Review requirements and acceptance criteria to define comprehensive test scenarios and identify any gaps.
- Create, maintain, and execute detailed test plans and test cases.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across web applications and APIs.
- Report defects clearly, including reproduction steps, expected results, and supporting evidence.
- Collaborate with developers to investigate issues and verify fixes effectively.
- Develop and maintain automated tests for critical user journeys to improve efficiency.
- Participate actively in sprint planning and release testing, communicating quality risks and test outcomes.
- Continuously improve test coverage and overall QA practices to enhance product quality.

Required Qualifications

- At least 2 years of experience in software quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, defect tracking, and the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to translate requirements into thorough and effective test cases.
- Experience using Jira or similar issue-tracking tools.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for validating application data.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage testing priorities efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Familiarity with programming languages including JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java.
- Experience with Git and automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to performance, accessibility, security, or mobile testing is a plus.

The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs100,000 to Rs150,000.

- Bachelor’s degree is required.
