PsychPlus is dedicated to transforming mental healthcare by making it more accessible, convenient, and connected through innovative technology. Our platform unites patients, clinicians, and care teams via modern digital experiences focused on quality, privacy, and reliability. We are seeking a Staff Flutter Engineer to lead the development and scaling of our mobile applications. This role requires a hands-on technical leader capable of guiding architecture, product development, engineering standards, and mentoring within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture:
Take ownership of the architecture for PsychPlus’s Flutter applications, establishing scalable patterns for app structure, state management, dependency injection, navigation, networking, and local data persistence. Make balanced technical decisions that consider scalability, performance, maintainability, security, and delivery speed. Define and uphold mobile engineering standards and best practices. Lead technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and strategies to reduce technical debt. Ensure architectural consistency across mobile and backend systems.

Flutter Development:
Design and build high-quality production applications using Flutter and Dart. Develop reusable, maintainable, and testable UI components and modules. Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication, analytics, notifications, and third-party services. Implement robust error handling, offline support, caching, and efficient state management. Optimize app performance including startup time, memory, rendering, and battery usage. Collaborate with native iOS and Android development when Flutter alone is insufficient. Participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.

Healthcare & Security:
Develop applications with a strong focus on privacy, security, reliability, and data protection. Adhere to healthcare compliance requirements, including HIPAA. Ensure secure handling of sensitive patient and clinical data throughout the application lifecycle. Work closely with security, infrastructure, and backend teams to implement secure authentication, authorization, data storage, logging, and monitoring. Design systems with safeguards against data leakage and unauthorized access.

Engineering Excellence:
Establish and enhance automated testing strategies covering unit, widget, integration, and end-to-end tests. Improve CI/CD pipelines and mobile release processes. Implement observability and production monitoring for mobile apps. Investigate and resolve complex production issues. Define engineering metrics and practices to boost reliability and development velocity. Contribute to technical documentation and engineering standards.

Technical Mentorship:
Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, fostering their technical growth. Provide constructive code reviews and guide sound architectural and implementation decisions. Lead technical initiatives across teams and promote a culture of ownership, engineering excellence, and continuous learning.

Product Collaboration:
Partner with Product and Design teams to translate complex requirements into simple, intuitive mobile experiences. Engage in product discovery and technical feasibility discussions. Break down large initiatives into practical milestones. Balance technical quality with business and product priorities. Advocate for accessibility, usability, and a superior patient experience.
