Struvek specializes in engineering drafting, BIM modeling, and coordination services for AEC firms, primarily focusing on structural building projects while expanding into engineering design support. Joining Struvek means becoming part of a dynamic, young team working on authentic US building projects. This role involves supporting the structural design of buildings through analysis models, member design, calculations, and design markups, which the modeling team converts into Revit drawings. It is important to note that this position does not involve stamping or sealing drawings, as all final work is reviewed by a licensed US engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and analyze structural models of buildings using ETABS, SAFE, or RAM software.
- Design structural elements such as beams, columns, slabs, walls, and foundations in compliance with ACI, AISC, and ASCE 7 standards.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive calculation packages and design markups for the modeling team’s use.
- Review Revit models and drawings against design specifications to identify and flag any discrepancies or errors.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Modeler regarding drawing schedules and any design modifications.
- Provide daily progress updates and report any design risks directly to the company founder.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a structural focus.
- Between 3 to 6 years of experience in building structural design.
- Proficient in ETABS, SAFE, RAM, or STAAD software for structural modeling and analysis.
- Working knowledge of US building codes, including ACI 318, AISC 360, and ASCE 7.
- Basic familiarity with Revit to effectively review drawings.
- Submission of examples of past design work or calculations is mandatory.
- Strong written English skills for preparing calculations and providing project updates.
- Availability to work full-time on-site in Lahore.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Professional Engineering Council (PEC) registration or active progress toward obtaining it.
- Experience working on US building projects, particularly with seismic and wind design provisions.
- Knowledge of specialized design areas such as mass timber, post-tensioned concrete, or steel structures.
- Skills in Excel or Python for automating calculations and improving efficiency.
