The Communication and Works Department of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) is seeking a Superintending Engineer (BPS-19) to join its Mardan Division on a full-time, on-site basis. This role offers an opportunity to lead engineering teams in the planning, design, execution, and maintenance of vital public infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and government buildings. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for civil works projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Review and approve project plans, estimates, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and departmental policies.
- Monitor project progress through regular site inspections, resolving technical and operational issues as they arise.
- Coordinate effectively with divisional and provincial leadership, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Manage project budgets, oversee tendering and contract administration processes in accordance with public sector procurement rules.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for internal and external use.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to subordinate staff, fostering professional development, ethical conduct, and capacity building within the team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, including design, structural analysis, and construction methods relevant to roads, bridges, and public buildings.
- Proven experience in project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation for medium to large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in contract management, tendering procedures, cost estimation, and adherence to public sector procurement regulations.
- Ability to supervise and lead multidisciplinary teams, providing technical guidance and managing performance within a structured organizational environment.
- Familiarity with national and provincial engineering codes, quality assurance standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to address complex technical and operational challenges.
- Effective communication and report-writing skills for interaction with government officials, contractors, and community stakeholders.
- Proficiency in engineering and office software tools such as CAD applications, project management software, and MS Office.
