The University Main Office is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the operations of the Faculty Mess. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of hygienic, high-quality food services, managing guest rooms and common facilities, and maintaining strict standards of sanitation and discipline. This role demands effective inventory and financial control, along with upholding excellent hospitality standards in line with NUST policies and procedures. Candidates with prior experience in military or civilian mess management and hoteling are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration and overall management of Faculty Mess operations.
- Provision and supervision of food and catering services ensuring quality and hygiene.
- Management and upkeep of guest rooms and lounges.
- Maintenance of rooms, lounges, and common areas to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Inventory and asset control, including stock management and procurement.
- Enforcement of personal hygiene and sanitation standards among staff and facilities.
- Mess costing and financial control to optimize budget and resource utilization.
- Staff management, including supervision, training, and performance monitoring.
- Oversight of stores and procurement processes to maintain adequate supplies.
- Ensuring safety and security protocols are strictly followed within the mess and associated areas.
- Accurate documentation and timely reporting of all mess-related activities.
- Delivering excellent customer service to all mess users and guests.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by senior management to support NUST’s hospitality, accommodation, and catering services.
Required Qualifications
- Essential: Matriculation (Secondary School Certificate).
- Experience: Candidates must have served as Mess Havildar or Mess JCO in the Army or have relevant hoteling experience in civilian settings. A minimum of three years’ service as Mess Havildar is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Desirable: Intermediate level education (F.A) is preferred.
- Experience in managing and supervising Officers Messes, clubs, and guest rooms within the Armed Forces will be considered an advantage.
