This role involves supporting food service operations within a healthcare setting, ensuring that patients receive meals tailored to their dietary and medical needs in accordance with established nutritional guidelines. The position requires close collaboration with various teams to maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene. The individual will oversee daily food preparation, service, and catering activities, while also managing inventory and supervising staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating and executing daily food service activities, including cooking and meal assembly.
- Ensure patient meals meet specific dietary requirements and medical guidelines.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain food safety and compliance with health regulations.
- Follow and enforce policies related to patient meals, cafeteria services, catering, supply management, and kitchen safety practices.
- Maintain employee hygiene standards, including personal grooming and uniform compliance.
- Train and supervise staff responsible for assembling and distributing patient meals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee food preparation and portion control for patients, attendants, and staff.
- Manage inventory and control of unpreserved food supplies, including ordering, storage, and minimizing food wastage.
- Ensure cafeteria food and beverage supplies are adequately stocked, maintained, and monitored during service hours.
- Monitor food quality at cafeteria serving lines, ensuring proper temperature, presentation, and mise-en-place standards.
- Be physically present during service hours to address customer feedback and take corrective actions in consultation with senior management.
- Supervise setup and service of official catering events as directed by management.
- Oversee dishwashing operations, ensuring proper use of detergents and sanitation of all kitchenware and utensils.
- Ensure all food and beverages are transported covered to service locations.
- Maintain accurate records of food production, meal services, and related administrative data.
- Support security protocols and contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and secure facility.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in food service operations, preferably within a healthcare or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and nutritional guidelines relevant to patient care.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, health regulations, and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to supervise and train food service staff effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, including inventory management and record-keeping.
