SysOps Administrator

Pixalate is seeking a skilled SysOps Administrator to join our remote team based in Lahore, Pakistan. This full-time role involves managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS and GCP platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring cloud environments, monitoring system performance, and ensuring the reliability and security of production applications. You will work closely with engineering teams to support complex technical products and contribute to continuous improvements in infrastructure and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Configure and fine-tune AWS and GCP cloud management systems, including monitoring and managing cloud services.
- Optimize resource allocation and cost management to support governance, budgeting, and reporting efforts.
- Utilize advanced monitoring tools such as Amazon CloudWatch alarms and Stackdriver metrics to track cloud resource utilization.
- Perform software upgrades, kernel patching, and errata management; oversee disaster recovery and data backup processes.
- Maintain continuous integration environments, develop system configuration management, and implement strong security practices.
- Identify and execute systematic improvements in infrastructure, processes, and operational practices.
- Own and manage the release process across all environments.
- Work with DevOps and IT automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, and others.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production environment issues efficiently.
- Manage and maintain system pipelines to ensure consistent runtime health.
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Redshift, Route53, CodeDeploy, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch Service, Kinesis, CloudWatch, and SQS is essential.
- Familiarity with equivalent Google Cloud Platform services is required.
- Use configuration management tools like BitBucket Pipelines, Chef, Terraform, Ansible, and Serverless frameworks.

Required Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Prior experience collaborating with engineering teams on complex technical products.
- Fundamental networking troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to respond promptly to alerts and inquiries via Slack; must have Slack installed on a mobile device at all times (device provided by Pixalate).
- Coding or scripting knowledge is highly advantageous.
- Willingness to work some hours aligned with U.S. time zones for team meetings and collaboration.
