Systems Architect - AWS Cloud with AI

We are looking for an experienced Systems Architect specializing in AWS Cloud with AI to lead large-scale cloud migration and transformation projects. This role involves designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS architectures while driving the integration of AI-enabled cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to assess current environments, plan migrations, and deliver modernized cloud-native solutions that meet business and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead comprehensive AWS cloud migration and transformation initiatives, including assessment, migration planning, execution, cutover, optimization, and modernization phases.
- Design enterprise AWS Landing Zones, multi-account architectures, governance frameworks, networking, identity, security, and automation standards.
- Translate business and engineering requirements into target-state cloud-native and AI-enabled architectures that are scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized.
- Facilitate client-facing architecture workshops, executive briefings, and technical decision-making sessions, acting as a senior cloud architecture advisor.
- Develop and maintain architecture artifacts such as high-level designs, migration blueprints, wave plans, feature breakdowns, estimations, risk assessments, playbooks, and system blueprints.
- Lead technical solutioning for RFPs and proposals, including cloud transformation strategies, business cases, effort estimates, assumptions, risks, and cost models.
- Manage and mentor delivery teams of six or more members, supporting project planning across budget, timeline, and migration complexity.
- Evaluate external vendor proposals, conduct architecture reviews, and ensure solutions comply with AWS and industry best practices for scalability, resilience, security, performance, and cost efficiency.

Required Qualifications

- 16 to 25 years of IT experience with deep expertise in enterprise AWS cloud and systems architecture, including EC2, S3, VPC, ELB/ALB, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
- Strong knowledge of AWS Landing Zones, Control Tower, multi-account strategies, Service Control Policies (SCPs), IAM, governance, and enterprise cloud operating models.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale AWS migration programs covering application and infrastructure assessment, migration planning, wave-based execution, cutover, and post-migration optimization.
- Familiarity with AWS Migration Factory methodologies and tools such as AWS Server Migration Service (SMS) and Application Migration Service, including rehost, replatform, and refactor strategies.
- Expertise in AWS networking and security architecture, including Transit Gateway, NACLs, Security Groups, AWS Network Firewall, hybrid connectivity, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and/or CDK, alongside CI/CD, GitOps, and platform automation practices.
- Experience in cloud-native modernization using EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, microservices, containers, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Model (LLM) integrations, and AWS AI/ML services such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and OpenSearch for vector search.
- Strong customer-facing consulting skills, architecture documentation, estimation, RFP/RFI solutioning, and stakeholder management with the ability to lead technical teams and architecture discussions.
- AWS certification such as Solutions Architect – Professional or active pursuit of relevant AWS certifications, combined with a continuous learning mindset and ITIL Foundation exposure.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Experience with service mesh and advanced container platforms, including EKS, ECS, and AWS App Mesh.
- Enterprise architecture certifications such as TOGAF or SEI.
- Additional hands-on experience with GenAI/Agentic AI solution patterns and AI-enabled cloud transformation programs.
