Talking Head Video Editor

Team Zealancy is seeking a talented YouTube Video Editor skilled in storytelling, motion design, and AI visual generation to transform raw footage and creative ideas into captivating, high-retention YouTube content. This role focuses on documentary-style, talking-head, creator-led, and long-form videos. Candidates will be evaluated based on their portfolio, editing judgment, storytelling ability, technical skills, and creative execution rather than traditional job titles. A deep understanding of why an edit works, viewer retention strategies, pacing, and the integration of visuals, sound, motion graphics, and AI-generated content is essential. The position is full-time, based onsite in Karachi, with working hours from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, offering a monthly compensation range of PKR 45,000 to 120,000+, depending on experience and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage through to final delivery.
- Develop strong intros and hooks that generate curiosity and maintain viewer attention.
- Structure videos with a focus on storytelling, pacing, and retention.
- Create and integrate motion graphics, typography, animations, and visual effects.
- Utilize B-roll, graphics, screenshots, stock footage, music, and sound effects purposefully.
- Generate and incorporate AI visuals for storytelling, B-roll, concepts, and creative sequences using tools like Higgsfield AI and similar platforms.
- Blend AI-generated visuals seamlessly with traditional editing, motion design, graphics, and sound to ensure visual consistency.
- Apply basic color correction and grading as needed.
- Translate scripts, dialogue, and creative concepts into engaging visual sequences.
- Accurately interpret references and reproduce editing styles without mere imitation.
- Apply fundamental graphic design and layout principles when creating visual assets.
- Manage revisions professionally and efficiently.
- Take ownership of projects and communicate any blockers promptly.
- Deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and strong working knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
- Solid understanding of motion design and animation principles.
- Excellent sense of pacing, rhythm, sound design, and visual composition.
- Good typography and layout judgment.
- Basic knowledge of color correction and grading.
- Strong ability to select B-roll and tell stories visually.
- Effective project organization and asset management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine editing and workflow issues independently.
- Hands-on experience with AI visual generation and AI-assisted creative workflows.
- Familiarity with Higgsfield AI or similar AI image and video generation tools.
- Capability to generate, refine, and integrate AI visuals into professional edits.
- Strong judgment regarding visual consistency, realism, continuity, and quality when using AI-generated assets.
- Good English comprehension, especially for working with English-language scripts.
- Understanding of YouTube storytelling and viewer retention dynamics.
- Ability to analyze and explain why certain editing decisions work.
- Awareness of purposeful creative decisions versus decorative effects.
- Familiarity with creator-led content styles, including channels like Johnny Harris and Colin & Samir.
