This role involves proactively establishing, developing, and maintaining a portfolio of corporate clients requiring routine relationship services. The objective is to generate revenue for the bank by managing these client relationships professionally, guided by the company’s policies. The position carries credit responsibility and accountability while marketing a comprehensive range of the bank’s products and services to large existing and potential corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Credit Risk Management to ensure credit requests for new and existing facilities comply with bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Support the team in maximizing product uptake and benefits from middle-market corporate clients by providing tailored banking products, services, and professional financial advice.
- Identify and establish new corporate client relationships, while maintaining and deepening connections with existing clients.
- Enhance customer relationships through referrals and active engagement.
- Work with internal business partners to deliver comprehensive financial solutions that meet customer needs.
- Execute team plans aligned with the Corporate Banking strategy.
- Actively market the bank’s products and services to major clients, demonstrating strong corporate banking product knowledge.
- Provide coaching and motivation to support team members effectively.
- Review, modify, and approve credit proposals submitted by Relationship Managers.
- Monitor and maintain high credit quality within existing client accounts.
- Ensure all team-related administrative functions, such as file maintenance, stock inspections, call reports, and site reports, are performed regularly to comply with internal and external audit policies, resulting in satisfactory audit ratings.
- Follow audit controls rigorously to protect the company from unnecessary risk and exposure.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold customer privacy in all situations.
- Monitor account performance closely to detect early warning signals through frequent client meetings, market feedback, and relationship manager discussions, aiming to improve portfolio credit and asset quality.
- Supervise accurate reporting of financial, performance, and regulatory data, ensuring timely delivery to clients.
- Participate in Corporate Banking Group (CBG) projects as part of business change initiatives to achieve defined objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by line management.
