Pakistan Tobacco Company is currently offering a position for a Team Lead - SMD based in Akora Khattak, Pakistan.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage shift operations efficiently to meet daily and monthly production targets.
- Ensure planned downtime and smooth machine operations align with the Master Production Schedule and support the Integrated Work System (IWS) philosophy.
- Manufacture products that consistently meet or exceed quality standards, focusing on Q2S and Q2C metrics by adhering to established quality processes.
- Drive continuous process improvements to minimize market complaints and maintain product integrity.
- Deploy the workforce effectively according to the agreed crewing pattern to achieve desired output levels.
- Deliver exceptional results in process reliability, managing both planned and unplanned downtime while fulfilling production schedules.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of chronic stoppages directly on the shop floor.
- Facilitate the Shift Transition Meeting in accordance with Site Daily Discipline System (DDS) and Daily Management System (DMS) protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is mandatory.
- Some experience in operations management, gained through internships or employment (0.5 to 1 year), is advantageous.
- Strong technical understanding of machine construction, technical drawings, and electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members on the production floor.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities combined with strong communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unionized, and digitally-driven work environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
