Tech Lead – Java & AWS

We are looking for a seasoned Tech Lead with strong expertise in Java and AWS to join our team in Gothenburg, Sweden. This hybrid role involves a balanced focus on hands-on software development and software architecture, requiring close collaboration with domain architects, developers, and the DevOps organization. You will be part of a diverse team working in two-week sprints and ten-week program increments within a domain consisting of four teams and around 24 members. The ideal candidate will bring over eight years of relevant experience and a solid educational background, ready to lead technical efforts while remaining actively involved in coding and solution design.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and direction to the development team.
- Balance hands-on software development with architectural and solution design duties.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services primarily using Java and Spring Boot.
- Contribute to architectural decisions ensuring alignment with the broader domain architecture.
- Design and implement microservices-based and AWS serverless solutions.
- Develop applications using TypeScript alongside backend services.
- Collaborate closely with domain architects, developers, DevOps professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Participate actively in technical discussions, solution design, code reviews, and development activities.
- Design and manage SQL and NoSQL database solutions.
- Develop and support asynchronous application components and distributed systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, GitHub-based development workflows, and modern DevOps practices.
- Promote Test-Driven Development (TDD), maintainability, and high-quality engineering standards.
- Work effectively in Unix/Linux environments and Agile delivery models such as Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban.
- Support the delivery of reliable, maintainable, and scalable software solutions while clearly communicating technical concepts across teams.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 8 years of relevant software development experience.
- Proven experience in Tech Lead or Team Lead roles with strong leadership and communication skills.
- Advanced backend development skills in Java and Spring Boot.
- Proficiency in TypeScript for application development.
- Solid experience with AWS, particularly serverless services and development.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and software design principles.
- Skilled in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming techniques.
- Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments.
- Strong advocate of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working within Agile frameworks including Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with automotive connectivity or connected applications.
- Familiarity with AWS CDK and AWS CodePipeline.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Additional experience in serverless development beyond AWS Lambda.
- Understanding of scalability challenges, load testing, and performance optimization.
- Skills in application profiling and tuning for enhanced performance.

Working Environment

This position is based in Lindholmen, Gothenburg, Sweden, with a hybrid work setup that is primarily office-based. The team follows a DevOps and Agile delivery model, operating in two-week sprint cycles. You will be part of a domain structured into four teams totaling approximately 24 people, fostering a collaborative and dynamic work atmosphere.
