Tech Lead – Java & AWS

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead with strong expertise in Java and AWS to join our team in Gothenburg, Sweden. This hybrid role involves a balanced focus on hands-on software development and software architecture, working closely with domain architects, developers, and the DevOps organization. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team operating within Agile frameworks, including two-week sprints and ten-week program increments, contributing to a domain consisting of four teams and around 24 people. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to lead technical efforts while remaining actively involved in coding and solution design.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, direction, and guidance to the development team.
- Balance hands-on software development with architecture and solution design responsibilities.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services primarily using Java and Spring Boot.
- Contribute to architectural decisions ensuring alignment with broader domain architecture.
- Develop microservices-based and AWS serverless solutions.
- Utilize TypeScript as part of application development.
- Collaborate closely with domain architects, developers, DevOps professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in technical discussions, solution design, code reviews, and development activities.
- Design and implement SQL and NoSQL data solutions.
- Develop and support asynchronous application components and distributed systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and GitHub-based development following modern DevOps practices.
- Promote Test-Driven Development (TDD), maintainability, and high-quality engineering standards.
- Work effectively in Unix/Linux environments and Agile delivery models such as Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban.
- Support reliable, maintainable, and scalable software solutions while clearly communicating technical concepts across teams.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in Tech Lead or Team Lead roles with strong leadership and collaboration skills.
- Advanced Java backend development expertise, particularly with Spring Boot.
- Proficiency in TypeScript.
- Solid experience with AWS, especially serverless services and development.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and software architecture concepts.
- Skilled in both SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Experience with GitHub and asynchronous programming.
- Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies including Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 8 years of relevant software development experience with a demonstrable track record in Java backend development and leadership roles.
- Hands-on experience with software architecture, cloud-based applications, and modern DevOps delivery.
- Ability to remain actively involved in development alongside architectural responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with automotive connectivity or connected applications.
- Familiarity with AWS CDK and AWS CodePipeline.
- Knowledge of Docker and additional serverless development experience.
- Understanding of scalability concepts, load testing, application profiling, and performance optimization.
- Work location is Lindholmen, Gothenburg, Sweden, with a hybrid work setup primarily based in the office.
- Agile and DevOps delivery model with a sprint cadence of two weeks, working within a domain of four teams and approximately 24 people.
