We are seeking an experienced Technical Consultant specializing in the minerals sector to provide expert guidance across various aspects of mineral exploration, development, and sustainable utilization. The role involves contributing technical expertise to support the planning, production, processing, reclamation, and environmental management of mineral resources. The consultant will play a key role in analyzing technical data, conducting feasibility studies, and supporting investment decisions to promote growth and innovation within the mineral industry. Collaboration with stakeholders and adherence to international best practices and health, safety, and environmental standards are essential components of this position.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide specialized expertise in mineral exploration, planning, development, production, processing, reclamation, and environmental considerations.
- Analyze technical data to facilitate exploration and development initiatives within the mineral sector.
- Conduct due diligence, evaluate mineral feasibility studies, review investment proposals, and recommend appropriate transaction structures.
- Lead research and development efforts to introduce innovations that support informed decision-making by authorities.
- Guide the sustainable development and utilization of the country’s coal resources, incorporating environmentally compliant and advanced technologies such as innovative coal gasification techniques.
- Prepare evidence-based reports and studies with actionable recommendations aimed at attracting investment to the mineral sector.
- Assist in drafting mineral sector Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), tender documents, and agreements.
- Provide input for the effective monitoring and evaluation of mineral projects.
- Review and ensure the implementation of international best practices and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Assess, forecast, and develop strategies for the optimal utilization of critical and rare minerals to maximize national benefits.
- Oversee the adoption and application of modern mineral technologies, including modeling and simulation techniques.
- Perform detailed techno-economic analyses to support strategic planning and operational decisions.
- Ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks in line with key performance indicators (KPIs), targets, and deadlines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on cross-cutting issues within the mineral sector.
- Undertake additional assignments as directed by authorities.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Applied Geology, Geological Engineering, or related fields such as BE Mining Engineering, BS Applied Geology, BE Geological Engineering, or BSc (Hons) Geology.
- Master’s degree or higher qualifications such as Master of Engineering (Mining Engineering), MS Geology, MSc Geology, MSc Geological Sciences, MSc Geological Engineering, or MPhil Geology.
- A minimum of 9 years of relevant professional experience in the minerals sector.
