The Technical Delivery Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of client projects and internal products within the Microsoft ecosystem, overseeing everything from backlog management through to release and post-launch support. This role acts as the voice of the customer and the single authority on feature prioritization and delivery readiness. The successful candidate will ensure that the engineering team focuses on high-value, client-aligned initiatives by translating business goals into clear user stories, release plans, and delivery commitments. Operating primarily within Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, and .NET, the role requires hands-on delivery experience and fluency with Azure DevOps Boards or equivalent agile tools. This is a technical leadership position demanding credible engagement with architects, engineers, DevOps, and QA on architecture, estimation, dependencies, and technical risks, beyond just schedule and scope management.

Key Responsibilities

Live Backlog Ownership & Prioritization
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with client priorities, business goals, and technical feasibility.
- Define backlog items with clear acceptance criteria, dependencies, estimates, and business value.
- Collaborate with Business Analyst Leads and Product Managers to maintain backlog alignment with the product roadmap.
- Continuously refine and groom the backlog to keep it development-ready.

Prioritization & Technical Trade-offs
- Serve as the single point of authority for feature prioritization, balancing new features, change requests, technical debt, and defect resolution.
- Validate that engineering efforts align with product goals and client expectations throughout sprints and releases.

Sprint Planning, Release & Delivery Execution
- Ensure user stories are refined, estimated, and prioritized before sprint planning.
- Work closely with Project Managers and engineering leads to clarify scope, dependencies, capacity, and priorities.
- Own delivery readiness by confirming acceptance criteria, QA sign-off, and deployment plans with DevOps leads.
- Monitor delivery health across scope, schedule, quality, and risk, intervening early to resolve issues.

Customer Representation & Stakeholder Communication
- Represent clients and end users in backlog, design, and release decisions to ensure real business impact.
- Conduct regular discussions with clients and stakeholders to gather feedback and validate direction.
- Manage scope and change requests, negotiating impacts on timelines and commitments.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including architects, business analysts, DevOps, QA, and project managers.
- Set clear delivery expectations, review performance, and support professional growth of function leads.
- Act as the primary escalation point for delivery issues between clients, PMO, and Engineering.
- Collaborate regularly with stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of priorities and project stages.

Standards, Processes & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee maintenance of templates and SOPs for backlog management, delivery reporting, and client communications.
- Identify gaps and propose improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and technical alignment.
- Participate in sprint retrospectives to foster continuous learning and adaptation.
- Utilize AI-assisted tools where beneficial for backlog drafting, documentation, and delivery analytics.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field; Master’s or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of software delivery experience, including 4–6 years in a delivery leadership role with client-facing ownership.
- Proven experience managing live product backlogs and leading Agile/Scrum delivery across multiple projects.
- Strong technical background with the ability to engage on architecture, estimation, and risk.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies (Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, .NET) and agile tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary teams through their leads.
- Excellent client-facing communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools (Claude AI, ChatGPT/GPT, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum and fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Certifications such as Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-900, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are preferred.
- Experience with AI-enabled and agentic AI solutions delivery is a meaningful differentiator.
- Competitive salary starting from Rs100,000 per month.
- Work location is in-person, fostering close collaboration with teams and stakeholders.

This role demands strong technical credibility combined with disciplined delivery leadership, excellent stakeholder management, and a continuous improvement mindset to drive successful project outcomes within a Microsoft-centric environment.
