Technical Development Lead

Chai Vision is seeking a Technical Development Lead to drive the technical strategy and hands-on development of Lifepro’s connected fitness ecosystem across iOS, Android, Tuya, and the Copilot/Star platform. This role is critical in transforming one-time buyers into a loyal community by ensuring a high-quality, reliable app experience that supports retention and brand trust. You will oversee the full development lifecycle, from hardware and firmware readiness to app release, managing architecture, mobile development, vendor coordination, quality assurance, and delivery. As the product portfolio expands, you will also build and lead a development team. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Pakistan, working aligned with New York business hours.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the technical architecture, development standards, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Evaluate platform capabilities and integration options, recommending scalable, cost-effective solutions.
- Manage release readiness, technical risk, and ongoing application performance.
- Develop and maintain production mobile applications on iOS and Android using Flutter, React Native, Swift, and Kotlin.
- Implement native features such as BLE, Wi-Fi provisioning, permissions, notifications, and platform-specific behaviors.
- Integrate Tuya SDK for device pairing, control, status reporting, and OTA firmware updates.
- Integrate Copilot/Star APIs for cloud synchronization and data management.
- Handle build management, CI/CD pipelines, and app store submissions.
- Translate requirements and UX designs into actionable development tasks with clear criteria.
- Lead sprint planning and maintain project tracking using Monday.com.
- Coordinate with factories on firmware, connectivity, certification, and sample readiness.
- Collaborate with Tuya and Copilot/Star teams to manage dependencies and escalate risks.
- Provide technical guidance to UX and QA teams, ensuring test coverage and quality standards.
- Participate in hands-on testing, issue reproduction, and release validation as needed.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation while ensuring security and correctness.
- Maintain technical documentation and establish best practices to support team growth.
- Mentor developers and contribute to team building as headcount increases.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering production mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Flutter/Dart and React Native/TypeScript, with native Swift and Kotlin development skills.
- Experience integrating IoT SDKs such as Tuya, including BLE/Wi-Fi provisioning and device control.
- Solid understanding of mobile architecture, REST APIs, real-time messaging, authentication, and secure data handling.
- Proven ability to manage technical planning, sprint execution, and coordination across manufacturers and platform providers.
- Practical QA skills, including test planning, physical-device validation, regression testing, and defect investigation.
- Familiarity with Git, code reviews, CI/CD processes, and app store release workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, including critical review and validation of generated code.
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical, UX, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with Tuya cloud projects, DP configuration, Smart App SDK, or MiniApps.
- Familiarity with Copilot/Star platform API integration.
- Background working with consumer electronics factories, particularly in China.
- Knowledge of BLE GATT protocols, OTA firmware workflows, and fitness-device data.
- Experience in connected fitness, wellness, or consumer hardware applications.
- Prior experience recruiting, mentoring, or managing development teams.
