Telecom Field Technician - Microwave & Power Systems - TJ / 1873994

Our client, Connectserve Communication, is seeking a skilled Telecom Field Technician specializing in Microwave and Power Systems to join their team in Abbottabad. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hands-on experience in the telecom industry, with a strong background in installing, commissioning, configuring, and troubleshooting microwave links and associated telecom equipment. A thorough understanding of power systems—including DC power supplies, batteries, rectifiers, and earthing and grounding systems specific to telecom sites—is essential. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills and a solid grasp of networking fundamentals to ensure smooth daily operations.

The position involves frequent travel to various telecom sites, requiring the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication and coordination with customers, site personnel, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and commission microwave links and other telecom network equipment to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
- Conduct regular site inspections and perform preventive maintenance to uphold system reliability and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues, telecom equipment faults, and power system failures efficiently using technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain and repair power system components such as DC power supplies, batteries, rectifiers, and ensure proper earthing and grounding at telecom sites.
- Configure and verify IP settings and network connectivity to support communication frameworks within the telecom infrastructure.
- Coordinate effectively with site personnel, customers, and internal teams to communicate technical information, manage schedules, and resolve issues promptly.
- Document all maintenance activities, incidents, and repairs accurately for reporting and future reference.
- Adhere to safety standards and company policies while working independently at remote and on-site locations.
- Travel between multiple telecom sites as required for installation and maintenance assignments.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to telecom network equipment and power systems.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of two years’ experience in the telecom industry, specifically in field operations involving microwave and power systems.
- Proven expertise in installing, commissioning, configuring, and troubleshooting microwave links and telecom equipment.
- Strong knowledge of power systems, including DC power supplies, batteries, rectifiers, and earthing/grounding techniques used in telecom sites.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and IP configuration.
- Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple site visits efficiently.
- Strong communication and coordination skills to liaise effectively with customers, site personnel, and internal teams.
