Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join their Fire & Security IoT Solutions team in Hyderabad, India. This full-time role focuses on developing and optimizing embedded firmware for connected devices, supporting the integration of IoT platforms, and collaborating closely with hardware and cloud teams. The position plays a critical role in driving innovation by working directly with customers and ensuring seamless delivery of cutting-edge IoT solutions within Carrier’s Fire & Security business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize firmware platforms for connected devices.
- Collaborate with Hardware Engineers and Cloud teams to integrate solutions into Carrier’s backend systems.
- Create detailed test plans and conduct thorough design and code reviews.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, promoting continuous learning and improvement.
- Work alongside program management and customers to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Drive research, development, design, and testing of electrical components, systems, and networks to meet business objectives and specifications.
- Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and committees to present findings, negotiate agreements, and exchange information.
- Provide technical training to less experienced engineers to maintain quality standards.
- Analyze system requirements, capacity, costs, and customer needs to assess project feasibility and develop system plans.
- Design electronic components, software, products, or systems for various applications including commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific.
- Develop implementation schedules and cost budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Oversee manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and modification activities related to electronic equipment and systems.
- Evaluate operational systems, prototypes, and proposals, recommending repairs or design modifications based on environment, service, cost, and capabilities.
- Lead sub-system development to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced to expert knowledge obtained through higher education combined with relevant experience.
- Substantial understanding of Carrier’s organization, programs, or systems to implement enhancements.
- University degree or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience.
