Testing & Comissioning Engineer

Avanceon is seeking a Testing & Commissioning Engineer for a multi-year contract opportunity. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to verify the reliability and functionality of automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within automation systems to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
- Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including upgrades, backups, and configuration management.
- Provide training and ongoing support to operations teams regarding the proper use and upkeep of automation systems.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all processes, configurations, and system changes.
- Prepare progress reports and conduct root cause analysis to support continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in automation, specifically as a PLC/RTU Programmer and commissioning engineer, preferably with Water and Wastewater projects, Oil & Gas, and Infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency with various PLC platforms and RTUs, including Schneider M580, Rockwell Control & CompactLogix, Siemens S7-300, S7-400, S7-1500, PCS-7, WinCC SCADA, WinCC OA SCADA, and TBOX RTU.
- Experience working with open communication protocols such as Modbus Serial, Modbus RTU, BACnet MSTP, OPC, MQTT, and DNP3.
- Familiarity with control panel wiring and instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings related to control systems, including P&IDs, layouts, and control panel schematics, with the capability to troubleshoot wiring issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Capability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- UPDA certification holder.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
