Trainee Software Developer (AI Focused)

The role is within Jonas Software, a leading provider of enterprise management solutions across 17 vertical industries. Jonas, a division of Constellation Software Inc., supports over 2,200 clubs in more than 17 countries through its Jonas Club ERP software, which helps private clubs enhance member relationships, increase revenues, and reduce costs. The Synergy platform is a modern, browser-based solution designed specifically for private clubs.

We are seeking a Trainee Software Developer to join the global R&D team at Contour Software’s Karachi office. The successful candidate will start with training and apprenticeship opportunities, with the potential to transition into a full-time permanent role. This position involves working as part of the resource-center team, supporting the onshore R&D group.

Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in software development projects as part of the R&D team.
- Assist in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Apply knowledge of AI and software engineering principles to support product development.
- Engage in continuous learning and skill development to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Contribute to problem-solving and debugging activities throughout the software lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
- University degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields. Recent or soon-to-be graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Hands-on experience with AI through academic projects, internships, or early career work.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt Engineering, or AI-powered application development.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with common AI/ML libraries and frameworks.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and object-oriented programming techniques.
- Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, Angular, and SQL Server.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and different application architectures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Awareness of professional software engineering practices.
