Meezan Bank is seeking an experienced banking and finance professional to join its Head Office in Karachi as a Transaction Manager – Contract Finance. This role is positioned within the Investment Banking & Shariah Advisory function of the Corporate, Commercial & Investment Banking Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transaction execution, contract financing, credit documentation, compliance, and cross-departmental coordination, with at least five years of relevant managerial experience. The role demands a deep understanding of financing structures and the ability to work within the principles of Islamic banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage transaction execution and contract financing activities, guiding financing opportunities from initial business stages through structuring, approvals, documentation, and execution.
- Evaluate financing requirements, assess transaction risks, and ensure alignment with client needs and bank policies.
- Participate in business development by identifying financing opportunities, understanding client requirements, and contributing to the growth of the bank’s contract finance portfolio.
- Structure financing facilities by analyzing underlying transactions, identifying risks, and developing appropriate financing solutions that comply with the bank’s approval process.
- Review contracts and prepare credit and approval documentation, analyzing commercial agreements to identify terms impacting financing arrangements, payment flows, guarantees, and risks.
- Coordinate with multiple internal teams including Legal, Operations, Credit Administration, Shariah, and Trade Operations to ensure all requirements are addressed throughout transaction execution.
- Monitor transaction conditions, milestones, guarantees, documentation, and compliance requirements to maintain accurate records and reporting throughout the financing lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognized institution is mandatory.
- Minimum of five years of relevant managerial experience in transaction management, contract finance, corporate financing, credit analysis, or related fields.
- Proven expertise in transaction execution, financial and credit analysis, contract financing, facility structuring, documentation, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to work within Islamic banking principles and Shariah-compliant financing structures.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance is highly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, ACA, CFA, ICMA, or equivalent credentials will strengthen the application.
- Additional qualifications in Islamic Finance are considered an advantage.
- Candidates with experience in corporate banking, investment banking, structured finance, project or contract finance, and trade finance will find this role particularly relevant.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to develop client-focused financing solutions are important for success in this position.
