Treasury Specialist

METRO Pakistan, a leading cash & carry wholesale business, began its operations in 2007 and rapidly expanded to five wholesale centers within 18 months. In 2012, METRO joined forces with Makro-Habib, creating a strategic partnership that combined resources and financial strength to better serve customers and suppliers in a competitive market. Today, the company operates 10 wholesale centers across major cities including Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Islamabad, and Faisalabad.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily treasury operations, including accounting and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Manage both trade and non-trade payments efficiently.
- Perform bank account and payment reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate updates related to bank accounts, business registrations, and authorized signatories.
- Handle treasury accounting postings such as bank charges, final settlements, and fund transfers.
- Manage foreign currency remittances and payments in compliance with regulations.
- Reconcile and book markup and interest entries accurately.
- Oversee petty cash management and process utility bill reimbursements.
- Manage bank guarantees, including issuance, renewal, and release processes.
- Support internal and external audit activities by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Perform other treasury-related operations as required to support the finance function.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), MBA, ICMA, or ACCA from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in treasury, finance, or accounting roles.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with treasury management systems is considered an advantage.
- Strong competencies in treasury operations and accounting, payment processing, bank reconciliations, and banking coordination.
- Demonstrated financial acumen, compliance awareness, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial tasks.
