Truck Dispatch Manager

We are looking for a skilled Truck Dispatch Manager to lead our dispatch team and oversee daily fleet operations. In this role, you will focus on optimizing driver routes, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and maintaining high standards of driver retention and customer satisfaction. Your leadership will be critical in managing dispatch activities efficiently while maximizing profitability and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Manage, schedule, and train the dispatch team to meet performance goals. Establish and monitor key performance indicators such as on-time delivery rates, driver retention, and rate-per-mile targets.

Fleet Optimization: Oversee load assignments and route planning using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and GPS technology. Aim to maximize revenue while minimizing deadhead miles and operational costs.

Driver Management: Serve as the primary escalation point for drivers, addressing operational challenges, route changes, and schedule delays promptly to maintain smooth operations.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS) rules, and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance across the fleet to promote safety and regulatory compliance.

Reporting: Monitor and report on key metrics including cost-per-mile, fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, and weekly gross revenue to support data-driven decision-making.

Required Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 3 years in trucking dispatch, with at least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.

Software Proficiency: Practical experience using load boards and dispatch software such as DAT, Truck Stop, and 123 Load Board.

Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations, HOS logs, and various equipment types used in trucking operations.

Skills: Strong leadership abilities combined with effective problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
