We are looking for a UK-qualified Solicitor based in Pakistan or a candidate holding a UK law degree with approximately one to two years of relevant legal experience. The successful candidate will support a UK-based, SRA-regulated law firm by reviewing, developing, and enhancing its Personal Injury (PI) processes and procedures. This role involves close collaboration with the PI team to create structured, efficient, and compliant workflows covering all stages from initial instruction through pre-litigation, litigation, and case closure. The ideal candidate will combine UK legal knowledge, practical PI case management, legal drafting, regulatory compliance, and process development skills to improve consistency, compliance, profitability, and client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Injury Process Review: Analyze existing PI processes, templates, precedents, checklists, and case-management procedures to identify gaps and inefficiencies. Engage with fee earners and the PI team to understand current practices and enhance consistency and efficiency.
- End-to-End PI Workflow Development: Map and document the entire PI lifecycle, including client onboarding, conflicts checks, case assessment, liability evaluation, correspondence with defendants and insurers, medical evidence gathering, settlement negotiations, Pre-Action Protocols, litigation steps, court deadlines, and matter closure. Define responsibilities, actions, documentation, and key deadlines at each stage.
- Policies, Procedures, SOPs, and Checklists: Draft clear internal policies, procedures, SOPs, guidance notes, and process documents. Develop comprehensive pre-litigation and litigation checklists covering documentation, compliance requirements, limitation periods, key dates, and escalation points.
- UK Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure PI processes align with SRA Standards and Regulations, Civil Procedure Rules, Personal Injury Pre-Action Protocols, client-care obligations, confidentiality, data protection, and professional conduct standards. Identify compliance risks and recommend practical controls.
- Case Management, LEAP, and Diary Control: Review the firm’s use of LEAP for matter management, task allocation, diary control, document management, and reporting. Develop procedures to safeguard limitation dates, court deadlines, medical appointments, expert evidence deadlines, and other time-sensitive actions. Experience with LEAP or similar UK legal case-management systems is preferred.
- Medical Evidence and Client Communication: Evaluate processes for obtaining medical records and expert reports, identify delays, and develop follow-up procedures. Establish clear client communication protocols and templates to keep clients informed while minimizing unnecessary correspondence.
- Risk Management, Reporting, and Management Information: Develop a practical PI risk-management framework, identify operational and regulatory risks, and recommend mitigation strategies. Create trackers and reporting tools for matter stages, deadlines, case duration, settlement progress, and litigation status, including data extraction from case-management systems.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with PI fee earners, management, and support staff to ensure processes meet departmental needs, including standardizing pre-litigation workflows.
