National Bank of Pakistan, one of the country’s largest and most reputable financial institutions, is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional for the position of Unit Head - Agri Program Lending (AVP/VP) based in Karachi. Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate, review, and maintain the Agriculture Credit Policy along with all farm and non-farm product programs.
- Define target markets, risk acceptance criteria, per-acre limits, tenors, and collateral norms for agricultural lending.
- Establish and monitor early warning indicators (EWIs) and emerging risk triggers across the agriculture portfolio, recommending timely risk mitigation measures.
- Develop and maintain portfolio risk appetite parameters, concentration thresholds, and risk monitoring dashboards to facilitate effective senior management oversight.
- Ensure credit policies and processes remain effective and support quality credit decisions.
- Conduct periodic portfolio and multidimensional analyses, recommending evidence-based policy adjustments.
- Manage the approval authority matrix, deviation framework, and exception monitoring.
- Provide credit risk input for projects, new product development, and market intelligence.
- Track business, market, and regulatory developments to keep policies relevant and up to date.
- Coordinate stakeholder feedback into product programs and manuals, documenting all policy changes with an adequate audit trail.
- Perform any other assignments as directed by supervisors.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from a university or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least six years of banking experience, including a minimum of four years in agricultural policy, credit risk, consumer/SME/SBP schemes, or product program-based lending.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural, consumer, and retail policies, SME financing, and State Bank of Pakistan regulations.
- Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and agricultural market dynamics.
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong business acumen.
- Detail-oriented, goal-driven, and capable of prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- A master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications will be considered an advantage.
- Experience in housing finance, auto finance, and other secured lending products is desirable.
- Candidates with prior experience in a similar role within commercial banks will be preferred.
- The position is offered on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at management’s discretion.
