National Bank of Pakistan, one of the largest and most prominent banks in the country, is seeking a skilled and dedicated professional for the position of Unit Head - HR Audit Readiness & Controls (AVP/VP) based in Karachi. The bank plays a vital role in supporting the nation’s financial well-being and fostering sustainable growth through its extensive local and international branch network. This role is integral to ensuring the bank’s Human Resource functions maintain compliance and readiness for internal audits, contributing to the institution’s vision of becoming a future-fit, agile, and sustainable organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and ensure timely submission of pre- and post-internal audit information from all HR divisions and wings as required by audit teams.
- Arrange and coordinate meetings between auditors and relevant HR heads or officials whenever necessary.
- Oversee the dissemination of audit observations from draft and final reports to all HR divisions, wings, and departments for management comments, compliance, and rectification.
- Monitor and ensure submission of periodic internal audit reports, including updated status and HR responses to audit findings, clearance certificates, and compliance reports after audit completion.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with concerned offices to ensure deadlines are met.
- Perform any other assignments as delegated by supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from a university, college, or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least six years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of three years in compliance, audit, or risk management roles.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with high attention to detail and process discipline.
- Proven ability in stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Candidates holding a master’s degree and/or professional certifications related to audit, compliance, or risk management will be given preference.
- Employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at the management’s discretion.

This position reports directly to the Wing Head of HR Governance, Risks, and Controls and is based in Karachi.
