National Bank of Pakistan, one of the country’s leading financial institutions, is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional for the position of Unit Head - HR Audit Readiness & Controls (AVP/VP) based in Karachi. The Bank plays a vital role in supporting the nation’s financial well-being and fostering sustainable growth through its extensive local and international branch network. This role is integral to ensuring the HR function aligns with internal audit requirements and maintains strong governance, risk management, and control frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and ensure timely submission of pre- and post-internal audit information from all HR divisions and wings as required by audit teams.
- Coordinate and arrange meetings between auditors and relevant HR heads or officials as necessary.
- Review and disseminate observations from internal audit draft and final reports to all HR divisions, wings, and departments for management comments, compliance, and rectification.
- Oversee the submission of periodic internal audit reports, including updated status and HR responses related to audit findings, annexures, and clearance certificates following audit completion.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with concerned offices to ensure deadlines are met.
- Perform any additional assignments as directed by supervisors.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from a university, college, or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least six years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of three years in compliance, audit, or risk management.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with keen attention to detail and process discipline.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and coordinate across multiple functions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- A master’s degree and/or professional certification in a related field is preferred.
- The position offers a contractual employment term of three years, with the possibility of renewal at the discretion of management.
