The Unit Receptionist in the Emergency Medicine department plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients and their attendants are welcomed and assisted in a professional manner. This position is responsible for managing the efficient flow of patients within the unit, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information in the system. The role demands strong organizational skills and attention to detail to support the department’s operations effectively. Key Responsibilities

- Greet and facilitate patients and their attendants promptly and professionally upon arrival.
- Manage patient flow within the Emergency Medicine unit to minimize waiting times and ensure smooth operations.
- Accurately record and update patient information in the hospital’s information system.
- Coordinate with medical and administrative staff to support patient care and unit efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records in compliance with hospital policies.
- Assist in addressing patient inquiries and provide necessary information or direct them to appropriate personnel.
- Support emergency department staff by managing communication and documentation as required.
- Adhere strictly to organizational policies, including those related to patient safety and ethical standards.

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in office administration or healthcare administration is advantageous.
- Proven experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare or emergency setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, attendants, and medical staff.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and record management.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
