We are looking for a highly analytical and ambitious Venture Development Associate (VDA) to support the Chief Financial & Strategic Officer (CSFO) at Finatra Group. In this role, you will play a critical part in evaluating and executing the growth and operations of a diverse portfolio of startups across various stages. This position requires a proactive self-starter who can take strategic direction from the CSFO and independently deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment without close supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & Research Analysis: Conduct comprehensive desktop and market research to identify and evaluate new business opportunities. Perform detailed due diligence on potential investments, analyzing market viability, scalability, and associated risks.
Financial & Strategic Documentation: Develop professional pitch decks, investment proposals, business plans, and perform basic financial modeling to support decision-making.
Project & Vendor Management: Work closely with the CSFO to plan, monitor, and manage multiple startup projects concurrently. Oversee external vendors and freelancers for tasks such as website development, design, copywriting, digital marketing, and software/app development.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the CSFO and external founders, investors, and vendors. Escalate critical issues promptly and follow through on action items as directed by the CSFO.
The VDA will engage with ventures spanning a wide array of industries including EdTech, FinTech, HealthTech, FoodTech, FaithTech, agriculture, hospitality, Web3 tokenization, BPO, AI, private equity, angel investing, e-commerce, ride-sharing, charitable endowments, Islamic finance, sustainable development, climate change, and social enterprise models. The role demands strong multitasking skills to continuously research, develop, and manage a growing portfolio of projects.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 3 to 6 years in deal advisory, startup incubation, consulting, financial analysis, project management, or entrepreneurship.
Education: MBA or Master’s degree in Business Administration from a reputable institution is preferred; however, candidates with a bachelor’s degree from any discipline are encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini is essential. Strong skills in MS Office (especially PowerPoint) and Canva for presentations are required. Comfort with adopting new technologies is critical. Software development experience is a plus.
Language Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Urdu.
Demographics: Ideal candidates are aged between 24 and 33, with international work or study experience considered a significant advantage.
