Veterinary Medical Director

RPK Critter Care & Animal Hospital in Karachi is seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Medical Director to lead its veterinary medical team. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, possess strong clinical expertise, and demonstrate effective leadership skills to uphold the highest standards of patient care, clinical practice, and medical operations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the veterinary medical team to ensure efficient and effective clinical operations.
- Establish and maintain high clinical and patient-care standards across all services.
- Oversee diagnosis, treatment plans, surgeries, and emergency cases with sound clinical judgment.
- Provide guidance and support to both junior and senior veterinary doctors in clinical decision-making.
- Develop and implement medical protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality-control measures.
- Ensure accurate medical records, thorough case documentation, and appropriate follow-up procedures.
- Monitor infection control, hospital hygiene, and patient safety standards consistently.
- Support staff training, mentoring, and continuous professional development initiatives.
- Collaborate with hospital management to improve medical operations and service delivery.
- Manage complex and critical cases, demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and leadership.

Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration/license with the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC).
- Significant clinical experience in small-animal practice, including medicine, surgery, diagnostics, and emergency care.
- Proven ability to handle complex clinical and surgical cases independently.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and team-management skills.
- Commitment to animal welfare and delivering high-quality veterinary care.

A detailed plan for managing the medical department during the first 90 days will also be requested, along with responses to hypothetical situations involving clinical emergencies, staff conflicts, and ethical dilemmas.
