The Video Content Specialist will play a crucial role in capturing, producing, and editing compelling video content for TCF’s digital and social media platforms. This hands-on position requires an individual who is comfortable working both behind the camera and in the editing suite, with the ability to independently plan, shoot, edit, and deliver high-quality video content. The role involves frequent visits to assigned schools to document stories, activities, and events, ensuring that all content aligns with TCF’s brand and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit assigned TCF schools monthly to capture video footage, including student and teacher stories, school activities, and other relevant material.
- Independently plan and execute video shoots, managing shot selection, framing, camera operation, basic lighting, and audio recording.
- Coordinate with school administration and staff to schedule visits, obtain permissions, identify stories, and ensure smooth shoot execution.
- Identify and capture authentic, engaging, and visually compelling stories from students, teachers, alumni, school staff, and communities.
- Produce high-quality videos, reels, short-form content, and social media assets tailored for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and others.
- Edit video content independently, including footage selection, storytelling, pacing, transitions, subtitles/captions, music, sound design, basic color correction, and audio syncing.
- Adapt content into platform-specific formats, aspect ratios, durations, and styles while maintaining TCF’s brand and visual standards.
- Stay informed about social media trends, content formats, editing techniques, platform features, and best practices relevant to video and digital content.
- Develop multiple content variations from existing footage to maximize the use and lifespan of material captured during school visits.
- Collaborate closely with the Digital and Content teams to understand content objectives, briefs, target audiences, timelines, and deliverables.
- Communicate proactively with team members regarding shoot schedules, progress updates, challenges, deadlines, and content requirements.
- Manage and organize video footage and project files, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and accessibility for future use.
- Ensure all required equipment is checked, prepared before shoots, and properly packed, returned, and stored after assignments.
- Provide filming and editing support for campaigns, events, school stories, digital content, internal communications, and other organizational needs.
- Assist the wider Creative team with video productions and support shoots requiring additional filming, editing, or production assistance.
- Ensure all content complies with TCF’s brand guidelines, safeguarding policies, and ethical standards, especially when working with children and communities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in videography and video editing.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, social media content creation, filming techniques, and video editing.
- Proficiency in producing content for various social media platforms, including reels and short-form videos.
- Basic photography skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a creative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of design and animation is an advantage.
- Experience in writing and pitching stories to journalists is beneficial.
This role is based on-site and requires regular travel to TCF schools. Candidates should be prepared to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to organizational guidelines.
