Video Editor

NOVATE is seeking a highly skilled and imaginative Video Editor and Visual Storyteller to join our team on-site in DHA Phase 7, Lahore. This role is not for beginners or those who rely on basic editing techniques such as simple cuts, captions, templates, or preset transitions. We want a creative professional who can transform raw footage, ideas, or scripts into visually compelling stories that go beyond conventional editing. The ideal candidate will possess strong creative instincts, excellent storytelling abilities, and a refined visual taste to elevate content into cinematic, energetic, and premium-quality videos.

Key Responsibilities:
- Produce engaging, creative, and visually distinctive Reels and short-form videos that captivate audiences.
- Transform ordinary footage into cinematic and dynamic content that feels fresh and unexpected.
- Develop original editing concepts rather than relying on templates or presets.
- Interpret the story, emotion, message, and target audience to build edits that resonate effectively.
- Craft strong hooks, maintain pacing, create visual beats, pattern interrupts, and sequences aimed at audience retention.
- Construct visually interesting sequences from simple raw footage using motion, typography, speed changes, compositing, transitions, sound effects, and visual effects that enhance the narrative.
- Create diverse content styles including documentary, cinematic, commercial, educational, lifestyle, brand, and storytelling-driven videos.
- Develop creative visual treatments for scripts and concepts, experimenting with new editing techniques, visual styles, AI tools, and emerging content formats.
- Take full ownership of projects from raw footage through creative concept development to final polished video delivery.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro with a solid working knowledge of After Effects.
- Proven experience producing high-quality Reels and short-form content with a strong creative editing portfolio.
- Deep understanding of storytelling elements such as pacing, rhythm, hooks, audience retention, visual composition, sound design, music selection, color grading, motion, visual hierarchy, creative transitions, and long-form content language.
- Ability to independently develop visual direction from scripts, briefs, or raw footage without heavy reliance on templates or presets.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
- A portfolio that clearly demonstrates creative thinking and originality beyond technical editing skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills:
- Experience with AI image and video generation tools and creative prompting.
- Skills in motion graphics, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, and familiarity with AI tools such as Flux, Nano Banana, Higgsfield, Kling, Runway, and Veo.
- Experience in YouTube and documentary-style editing is a plus.
- These additional skills are valued but not substitutes for strong editing capabilities.
