Vocal Mix Engineer

ABS International is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vocal Mix Engineer to join its in-house Audio Production team at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal office in Karachi. This full-time, permanent, on-site position offers the opportunity to work on professional audio projects within a well-established and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a trained ear, strong technical knowledge, and a precise approach to vocal production. ABS International, established in 2009, is a reputable organization with over 200 professionals and more than 16 years of continuous operations as a direct US Principal, providing a stable and professional workplace.

Key Responsibilities
- Record and edit vocal sessions using proper gain staging, level management, and recording techniques.
- Perform vocal tuning and timing corrections while preserving a natural and musical sound.
- Apply professional vocal processing, including EQ, compression, limiting, saturation, automation, de-essing, and other corrective techniques.
- Utilize effects such as reverb, delay, modulation, and other creative processing with precision and intent.
- Identify and eliminate unwanted noise, distortion, clicks, pops, and other recording artifacts.
- Mix vocals with instrumental and music tracks, ensuring clarity, depth, balance, and presence.
- Maintain the natural character of vocals within the overall production.
- Collaborate effectively with artists, content teams, and production staff to achieve the desired sound.
- Organize and maintain audio files, sessions, plugins, project folders, and production documentation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines without compromising audio quality.

Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience as a Sound Engineer, Audio Engineer, Vocal Mix Engineer, or Mixing Engineer.
- Strong practical knowledge of vocal recording, processing, and mixing workflows.
- Advanced understanding of EQ, compression, limiting, reverb, delay, saturation, automation, and other vocal-processing techniques.
- Proficiency in at least one professional Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as FL Studio, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, or an equivalent platform.
- Solid understanding of recording techniques, microphone selection, and microphone placement.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong musical ear.
- Ability to detect subtle audio imperfections and correct them effectively.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong knowledge of professional audio workflow and file management.

Portfolio Requirement
A portfolio or audio work samples showcasing previous vocal recording, processing, or mixing work is mandatory. Applications submitted without supporting audio samples or a portfolio will not be considered.

Compensation
