This role involves conducting detailed geological and geomorphological investigations focused on water resources. The successful candidate will assess geological conditions that influence groundwater occurrence and recharge, supporting the selection of sites for boreholes, recharge structures, and water intakes. They will identify geological constraints and hazards that may impact infrastructure development and prepare geological maps along with technical inputs to aid infrastructure planning.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geological and geomorphological surveys relevant to groundwater and water resource management.
- Assess subsurface conditions to determine groundwater potential and recharge capabilities.
- Support site selection for boreholes, recharge structures, and water intake facilities based on geological data.
- Identify and evaluate geological hazards and constraints that could affect infrastructure projects.
- Prepare detailed geological maps and provide technical input for infrastructure development planning.
- Demonstrate knowledge of water supply pumpsets and associated network systems.
- Install dipper tubes in pumpsets to monitor water levels effectively.
- Perform water quality analysis for drinking water, understanding relevant parameters.
- Complete data collection and reporting using Kobo Toolbox software.
- Willingness to work in field conditions for a period of two months.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in engineering geology, geological investigations, or geotechnical engineering.
- At least 6 years of experience specifically in geological and geotechnical investigations related to water resources, groundwater development, or water supply projects.
- Strong practical skills in fieldwork and geological mapping across diverse terrains.
- Proficiency in logging boreholes and core samples, including lithological, structural, and geotechnical descriptions.
- Applied knowledge of geophysical methods for subsurface characterization and the ability to integrate geological and geophysical data effectively.
- Experience in supervising drilling operations, sampling protocols, and related site investigations.
- Competence in using geological software and mapping tools such as GIS and geological modeling platforms, along with strong data analysis capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
While not explicitly stated, candidates with additional experience in advanced geophysical techniques or water resource management software will be considered favorably. The role offers valuable fieldwork experience and the opportunity to contribute to critical water resource infrastructure projects.

This position requires a motivated individual capable of working independently in challenging environments, with a strong commitment to accuracy and technical excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring sustainable groundwater development and infrastructure safety through expert geological assessment and planning.
