Water Treatment Operator

Pakistan Tobacco Company, a leading tobacco manufacturer in Pakistan, is seeking a full-time Water Treatment Operator based in Islamabad. The Water Treatment Operator will play a vital role in ensuring the reliable and safe operation of water and wastewater treatment systems, supporting the company’s continuous improvement efforts and maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment systems, including plant operations and pump stations, to ensure consistent utility service.
- Start, stop, and adjust plant equipment as needed to maintain optimal process conditions.
- Monitor process parameters and water quality, performing routine inspections of treatment units and pump stations.
- Record operational data accurately in logs and reporting tools to support compliance and performance tracking.
- Execute process control adjustments and perform basic troubleshooting to address operational issues.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and upkeep of treatment equipment.
- Adhere strictly to safety, environmental, and quality procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and environmental performance.
- Participate in shift handovers and periodic audits to ensure smooth transitions and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

- Proven ability to operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment facilities with a focus on reliability and safety.
- Strong technical knowledge of water treatment processes such as filtration, disinfection, and chemical dosing.
- Understanding of wastewater treatment principles, including effluent handling and compliance with discharge standards.
- Experience with process control, including reading instruments, interpreting data, and adjusting operating conditions to meet targets.
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards, use of personal protective equipment, and safe work practices in plant environments.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, monitoring systems, and generating reports; experience with SCADA or similar control systems is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, willingness to work in shifts, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
