National Bank of Pakistan, one of the largest and most prominent financial institutions in the country, is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Wing Head - Automation & MIS (VP/SVP) based in Karachi. The Bank is committed to supporting the nation’s financial well-being and fostering sustainable growth through its extensive local and international branch network. This role is integral to advancing the Bank’s digital transformation and risk management initiatives within the Credit Administration Division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for automation, digitization, and system-based process improvements across the Credit Administration Division to minimize manual intervention, reduce operational errors, shorten turnaround times, and mitigate process-related risks.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive automation and MIS strategy aligned with the Bank’s digital transformation goals and risk management framework.
- Lead the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of automated workflows, systems, dashboards, and digital solutions supporting credit administration activities.
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing systems, applications, and processes within the division to uncover automation opportunities, system gaps, inefficiencies, and control weaknesses, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Establish and maintain a robust MIS and reporting framework to ensure timely, accurate, complete, and relevant information is available for management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with Credit & Risk Management, Business Groups, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Technology teams on automation, MIS, data, and system-related initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into functional system and process workflows, and collaborate with IT teams and system vendors for system enhancements.
- Analyze system-generated reports and automated processes to detect data discrepancies, processing failures, and control breaches, ensuring timely resolution.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Automation & MIS team, enhancing capabilities in data analytics, reporting, automation, systems, and process improvement.
- Perform any other assignments as delegated by supervisors.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from a university/college/institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least 8 years of banking experience, with a minimum of 5 years in Credit Administration within Commercial or Islamic Banking.
- Strong understanding of database management and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in data analytics and business intelligence.
- Knowledge of business process automation and workflow management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Candidates with a Master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications will be given preference.
- Experience in Management Information Systems (MIS) and process automation is highly desirable.
- The position is offered on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at the discretion of management.
- Compensation and benefits will be provided in accordance with the Bank’s policies and rules.
