Wing Head - GL Control (VP) - TJ / 1903588

National Bank of Pakistan, one of the country’s leading financial institutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional for the position of Wing Head - GL Control (VP) based in Karachi. The Bank plays a vital role in supporting the nation’s financial well-being and fostering sustainable growth through its extensive local and international branch network. This role is integral to the Bank’s strategy of transforming into a future-ready, agile, and sustainable organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in financial control, particularly in General Ledger (GL) management, and demonstrate leadership capabilities to drive accuracy and compliance within the Bank’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the GL Control Wing, focusing on the collection, balancing, and validation of GL data.
- Represent the GL Control Wing in various forums and committees related to GL balancing and associated issues.
- Escalate reasons for any non-balancing and non-validation matters promptly.
- Review and assess management’s action plans for remediation of GL discrepancies.
- Escalate outstanding or high-priority issues related to action plans to ensure timely resolution.
- Analyze and present monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports concerning GL balancing to support decision-making and action planning.
- Undertake any additional assignments as delegated by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from a university, college, or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in finance, accounts, or articleship, preferably within a financial institution or audit firm.
- Hands-on experience in handling General Ledger accounts is highly desirable.
- Strong business and financial acumen with a sound understanding of relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Excellent business communication, report writing, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with a basic understanding of Power BI.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Candidates who are ACCA qualified, ICMA qualified, or CA part-qualified will be given preference.
- The position offers a contractual employment term of three years, with the possibility of renewal at the discretion of management.
