WordPress Developer

Inspurate Business Services (IBS) is seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join their team onsite in Karachi. This full-time role focuses on managing, maintaining, and enhancing a portfolio of existing client websites across various sectors including financial services, e-commerce, and healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress as a development platform, emphasizing clean, maintainable code rather than reliance on themes and plugins. You will be responsible for day-to-day ownership of WordPress projects, ensuring websites remain secure, optimized, and functional.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update existing WordPress websites to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Develop and modify WordPress themes and templates, utilizing Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), custom post types, and custom templates.
- Implement PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript changes to enhance website functionality and user experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WordPress core, themes, and plugins.
- Investigate and fix website errors and production problems promptly.
- Implement client-requested features and changes efficiently.
- Support WooCommerce websites, addressing routine e-commerce challenges.
- Manage WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates carefully to avoid disruptions.
- Perform backups, website migrations, and staging-to-production deployments.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through optimization techniques.
- Follow best practices for WordPress security to protect client websites.
- Work with hosting environments, databases, DNS, and control panels as needed.
- Test website changes across multiple devices to ensure responsiveness and compatibility.
- Maintain clean, reusable, and well-documented code.
- Use Git or other version control systems for development workflows.
- Provide clear and timely updates on tasks, challenges, and completed work.
- Monitor cybersecurity vulnerabilities and apply necessary updates to maintain platform integrity.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in WordPress development and administration.
- Strong proficiency in PHP and WordPress core concepts including hooks, actions, and filters.
- Expertise with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), custom post types, and taxonomies.
- Solid understanding of WordPress themes and template hierarchy.
- Competence in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience with MySQL and basic database troubleshooting.
- Ability to develop responsive websites compatible with desktop and mobile devices.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Knowledge of website hosting environments such as cPanel or similar platforms.
- Experience performing website backups and migrations.
- Skills in WordPress performance optimization and basic security practices.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Experience working with WooCommerce and resolving e-commerce issues.
- Familiarity with WordPress REST API and third-party API integrations.
- Knowledge of Gutenberg editor and custom block development.
- Understanding of SEO best practices and tools like Yoast.
- Exposure to Cloudflare and Linux hosting environments.
- Experience maintaining corporate or high-traffic websites.
- Ability to work on websites developed by other developers and improve existing codebases.

We are looking for a responsible and dependable developer who can manage multiple websites simultaneously, investigate problems independently, and communicate technical issues clearly. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking full ownership of tasks from diagnosis through testing and completion, with a willingness to learn new systems as required. Approximately 2 to 4 years of hands-on WordPress development experience is preferred, but demonstrated ability and problem-solving skills are valued above tenure.

Final salary will be based on experience and performance during a technical assessment, which may include a practical exercise focused on PHP, ACF, troubleshooting, and working with existing WordPress code. The offered salary range is PKR 60,000 to 80,000 per month. This position requires onsite presence in Karachi.
