I am working as Assistant Manager - Internal Audit in Yunus Textile Mills Ltd. located in Karachi, Pakistan. My current role focuses on supervising audit team engaged in audits of various support functions and core business operations.
During my service in Yunus Textile Mills, I have a proven experience of working in Internal Audit. I have been engaged in post audits of procurement, Marketing and HR functions. Additionally, I have also been involved in post audits of Stores and Admin functions. I have further gained good experience in the field of business process reviews, identifying control deficiencies and recommending improvements based on best industrial practices and standards.
I have previously worked as Cost Accountant in Jamal Industries (Pvt.) Ltd. based in Karachi, Pakistan. My role was to assist Manager-Planning in production planning, development of analytical reports related to production including variance analysis and worked on recommendations to reduce wastages.

Assistant Manager Internal Audit
• Responsible for leading the team engaged in audit assignments.
• Works closely with the Senior Internal Auditors in the planning and timely delivery of audit activities.
• Documenting audit procedures, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidences.
• Reviewing and evaluating the system of internal controls, while assessing their adequacy and effectiveness along with proposing recommendations for their improvement based on best industrial and corporate governance practices.
• Supervising field audits and stock counts.
• Carrying out special audits as directed by the CIA.
• Contributing in the development of the annual audit plan and performing related work as and when required.
• Liaising with MIS, process owners and end users in implementing recommended internal controls.
• Contributing in preparation of monthly audit activity report for presentation in audit committee.
Audit Senior
• Responsible for planning and execution of the assigned compliance, financial and operational audits in accordance with Audit plan.
• Determine scope of audit review in conjunction with the Internal Audit Manager.
• Document business process narratives/flowcharts and controls in order to evaluate risks and compensating controls.
• Conduct process of risk assessment, process walkthrough, collection of audit sample, performance of audit tests and documentation.
• Evaluate existing internal control system, test current processes and procedures.
• Identify reportable issues and provide recommendations.
• Communicate findings to chief internal audit (CIA) and draft comprehensive report of the audited area.
• Perform ongoing follow-up on action plan implementation and timeliness for remedial actions.
Audit Officer
• Performed Pre-Audit of payments and highlighted discrepancies and non-compliance to ensure adequacy and transparency over payments.
• Prepare monthly issues log highlighting control weaknesses along with suggested controls related to pre-audits.
• Performed periodic stock counts, cash counts and surprise counts and subsequently report to Audit Manager.
• Involved in local sales verification and prepared weekly report highlighting reconciliation of receipts along with issues log.
• Engaged in ad-hoc assignments given by CIA (Vendor evaluation and assessment)
• Assist line managers in business process reviews by means of documenting working papers, process flows and flowcharts along with highlighted controls.
