Acting as H.O.D for the erection of new processing plant

• In-charge of HCl Furnaces plant, Sodium Hypochlorite plant, Compressors workshop, Rotary Workshop and Condition monitoring department.
• Scheduling and Planning for maintenance shut downs at plant on monthly basis and accomplishing maintenance targets related to Furnaces area, Sodium Hypo plant, Ammonia and CO2 compressors, procurement of spares and new material for erection purposes and repairing of existing equipment.
• Reduction of Breakdown by improving and implementing Proactive, Predictive, Preventive and Breakdown maintenance strategies.
• Scheduling and planning the Thermography and Vibration Analysis activities of Rotary equipment (Pumps, Cooling Towers, Turbines, Compressors) and static equipment (Heat exchangers, Chillers), generating reports on daily basis and striving for betterment.
• Generating reports on MS Excel for maintenance activities and Condition Monitoring on daily basis, procuring new items through SAP by raising PR’s and following up regularly through emails.
• Ensuring the SOP development and implementation at work place..
• Handling the Maintenance and Procurement of HCl tanks, Heat exchangers, valves, columns, pumps, compressors and cooling towers.
• Participated as a Procurement Engineer in the erection and commissioning of CO2 plant.
• Installation and commissioning of new machines, repairing of old ones and liaison with national and international vendors, contractors and outsourced teams for the same reason.
• New Design implementation and coordinating with Process and design departments.
• Conducting training sessions of the maintenance staff and operators to implement standard procedures to enhance the quality of work.
• Taking care of the HSE rules and regulations and implementing them at workplace.
• Reporting and assisting the Deputy General Manager of the Plant to improve plant reliability.
Achievements

• Reduction in downtime of centrifugal pumps by scheduled maintenance and increased their efficiency.

• Target design analysis and liaison with Production, Planning & NPI departments for implementation of New Products.
• As a team leader made modifications in design of Bag Making machines and mechanical parts.
• Performing engineering analysis to reduce downtime and ensuring maximum production and product quality at all times.
• Preparing production, maintenance and machine efficiency reports.
• Analyzing the sealing, cutting and conversion criteria of different materials in bag making process.
• To evaluate current production activities and making recommendations for improvements to the management.
• Ensuring the training, safety procedures and environmental regulations for the employees.
• Reported to Factory Manager for production and maintenance targets.
Achievements

• Reduced the scrap ratio up to 2 % that led to RM 60,000 savings per month.
• Preventive maintenance of Bag making machines increased the output up to 2 Metric tons/shift.
• Carried out modification of Extrusion machine at Front Gusset Unit to increase the efficiency and decrease Power cost, saving RM 5,000 per month and Bag Making Machines to increase the production Speed thus saving RM 25,000 per Month.
• Made the efficiency reports of Bag making machines and reporting to Factory manager.
• Cost reduction project of Compressed air system completed, saving RM 130,000/Year.

• Responsible for execution and monitoring the maintenance activities that included Diesel and Gas Powered Engines, cooling towers, compressors, pumps, boilers and purifiers.
• Power Quality Assessments and Energy calculations.
• Supervising the manufacturing processes on Lathe Machines in Workshop.
• Assisting the shift engineer in power production reports and maintenance activities.
• Keeping under observation all the spare parts and other equipment brought into the plant.
• Acted as a member in solar powered equipment installation i.e. 1 MW.
• Reported to Senior Engineer Mechanical.
