Alongside the relevant academic background, I have more than 4 years of industry experience including hands on experience in managerial roles which I believe provide me an edge.
In my last engagement, I was appointed as an Assistant Manager, Finance in Honda Shahrah e Faisal. I was reporting to the CFO and had a team of 5 individuals working under me. My JDs revolved around financial reporting and statutory assignments assigned by the management, implementation of ERP, and working alongside the senior management assisting them in preparing the consolidated financial statements as well as resolving tax issues.
Before Honda, I was working with Al-Rahim Textiles as an Executive Internal Audit. The experience at Al Rahim Group has given me opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of accounting policies as well as internal controls implemented in large scale organizations to improve process efficiencies. My JDs included assisting supervisors in reporting and implementing policies and procedures Companywide on various departmental levels, assisting in risk factor analysis, accommodating external auditors with annual audits and preparing ad-hoc reports required by the management.
Before joining Al-Rahim, I was working with Jang group as a finance officer. The experience at Jang Group has enabled me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the nature and environment of industry dealings, understand various systems, policies and procedures for effective management. My JDs included understanding the functionality of the system (ERP environment), preparing reconciliations and cross verifying the receipts.
My career started from Faruq Ali & CO, an Audit and assurance firm where I joined as an Audit Trainee to complete my Internship. During my internship, I was engaged with different industries including textile, manufacturing, services, automobile, cement and print media. My responsibilities included obtaining a thorough understanding of the nature of client’s business and the regulatory environment in which it operated, SWOT analysis and identification of critical success factors, developing and maintaining a productive relationship with client’s management and deliver value addition to the client by sharing ideas and providing solutions for business process improvement along with assessing their legal implications.
I am proficient in MS office, programming and user level experience of Oracle, Quick Books, Microsoft Dynamics, Hisaab.pk and other softwares as well as analytical reporting and data presentation techniques.

Responsibilities included:
1-Reviewing monthly recons and data that was submitted to management and performing analytical review over reports generated through ERP.
2- Performing test and demo scripts to check accuracy of systems implemented.Â
3- Reviewing day-to-day operations and ensuring that they are carried out as required.Â
4- Analyzing risks in day-to-day operations and suggesting ways to improve its efficiency.

4- Reviewing compliance measures and policies implementation process along with admin and HR department.
5- Performing Stock taking along with Surprise stock count of Raw Material and Finished Goods either at Warehouse or Outlets.
6- Contributes to the safeguarding of corporate assets and the interests of Members by ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place and are operating effectively.
7- Perform consulting services for management through participation in projects designed to introduce new and/or changing processes, products or facilities.
8- Provide value added recommendations to mitigate both project and end state risks.
9- Perform walk through test to ensure system is operating effectively.
Responsibilities included:
1- Understanding the functionality of the system (ERP Environment) operated.
2- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation along with Cross verification of relevant receipts and payments.
3- Using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solutions for Preparation of JVs and other documents or reports.
4- Preparation of Ad Hoc reports as required by management.Â
5- Assisting management in annual audits
Responsibilities included:
1- Overall planning of audits, conducting initial planning meetings with the client to understand & co-develop expectations and designing audit strategies in consultation with the engagement partner, after assessing the underlying audit risk.
2- Obtaining a thorough understanding of nature of client's business, the business and regulatory environment in which it operates, SWOT analysis and identification of critical success factors.
3- Develop and maintain productive relationship with client's management and deliver value to the client by providing ideas and solutions for improving business and assessing legal implications.
4- Application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs), International Auditing Standards (ISAs), Corporate Regulations and SECP requirements.
