• To manage the routine activities of Radio Network Design Team and ensure timely solutions for any special coverage/capacity/requirements.

• To provide technical solutions/expert level opinion for network growth. Monitoring and policing the vendors to provide optimum radio network that performs in accordance with the expectations of the business.

• Work with Commercial team to develop optimal solution offering maximizing revenue with minimal CAPEX/OPEX.

• Formulation/implementation of Radio Network Design procedures in line with best Telecom practice.

• Provide objective and conclusive reports with regards to the current and future network plans related to coverage and capacity.

• Evaluation of RFP responses/BOQ relevant to Radio Network Designs/BSS.

• Technical training/orientations & familiarization of the teams with the latest techniques/trends in Radio Network Design.

Major Responsibilities include:
• Complete Cell Planning Process starting from Nominal Cell Planning till Site Integration for Warid North region.
• Technical Site Survey, profiling, site selection, Link Budgeting and coverage predictions using TCP (TEMS Cell Planner) for both City & Road coverage sites.
• Extracting Daily and weekly traffic statistics from Ericsson tool “Business Objects” (BO)
• Daily monitoring and analysis of Network KPIs like CSSR, TCH & SD Congestion, HOSR and DCR.
• Analysis of Traffic stats on daily/weekly and monthly basis and proposing expansion for Coverage / Capacity where required.
• Evaluation of Tower Sharing with other OMOs from RF perspective
• Drive Test & post drive test analysis in Idle and Dedicated mode using TEMS Investigation
• Planning COWs (Carrier on Wheels) for coverage/capacity purpose during special events and urgency conditions in the region.
• Planning RF Repeaters where required to enhance coverage and meet Network KPIs.
• Handling customer complaints regarding coverage / capacity issues and providing appropriate solutions for customer satisfaction.
• Review of CDD (Cell design data) from ERICSSON and make initial parameters recommendations.
• Troubleshooting and Recommendations identifying issues such as Interference, Overshoots, Call Drop, Blocked Call, HO Failure, Missing Neighbor, TCH Blocking, SDCCH Blocking, Cell barring, Faulty Hardware etc through Drive Test and OMC Statistics.
• Efficient use of Optimization techniques, BSS features, parameter tuning, powering down, up-link/down-link path balance, antenna tilt and azimuth changes to maintain and optimize the quality and coverage of the network with the assistance of MRR reports.
• Parameter recommendations to Optimization team for ERICSSON feature like HCS, CLS, SCLD and Locating etc.
• Planning Indoor coverage solution (IBS) in commercial multi-storey buildings/offices to improve indoor coverage/capacity and sustain network KPIs.

As Senior RF optimization engineer, major responsibilities include:
• Drive Test of CDMA 2000 1X sites using ZXPOS CNT / Qualcomm CAIT software tools
• Drive test and Optimization of CDMA 2000 1X EVDO Sites
• Post Drive Test Processing using ZXPOS CNA / ACTIX Software tools
• Neighbor list optimization using the tools ZXPOS CNO & NASTER
• CDMA 2000 1X Voice & Data Optimization / CDMA 2000 1X EVDO BTS sites by:
 Adjustment of Down tilts, Azimuth & height of BTS Antenna according to the terrain and neighbor BTS
 BTS Optimization by fine tuning Tx Power of control / access channel, search window size, cell radius
• Cluster Optimization of WLL Network: Cluster Formation, Drive Test route selection, evaluating Pre and Post Optimization Drive Tests for Long Call (Call Retention Test), MO Short Calls and Data Call Tests
• CDMA Traffic Report generation from iManagerM2000 Terminal of Huawei, OMC Terminal of ZTE and Universal Network Operation (UNO) Terminal of Motorola
• Detailed Analysis of KPIs e.g. BH Erlang, BH Call Attempts, High Call Drop rates, High Access Failure rates, soft & Hard Handoff Statistics, TCH Blocking, Soft and Softer HO Erlang, etc.
• Submitting Weekly Traffic Report to the higher Management including traffic figures and KPI trends.
• RSSI Analysis of cell sites having poor KPIs, reduced coverage or reduced capacity
• Using Spectrum analyzer for locating external interference generated by other transmitters that can interfere with our transmit band
• VSWR measurement using BTS Tester to detect problems in the antenna feed-line system and the antenna itself
• Using Map Info, Global Mapper and Google Earth Software for mapping BTS Sites on geographic map displaying raster, elevation, line of sight between two points, using view shed tool, etc.
